In 2017, JCC Day Camps and Tamarack Camps announced an historic partnership. Beginning in the summer of 2018, JCC Day Camps became officially JCC Day Camps Powered by Tamarack. The mixing of the JCC’s talented staff and expansive campus with Tamarack Camp’s storied “magic” has created a camp experience without parallel.
Located on more than 250 beautiful wooded acres in West Bloomfield, JCC Day Camps offers spectacular summer programs for children and teens ages kindergarten to 17. The camp runs under the leadership of Sr. Managing Director Randy Comensky, who has over 20 years prior camp management experience in St Louis, Buffalo, and Houston. JCC Day Camps is thrilled to have two seasoned Assistant Director’s in Melissa Mesa and Sam Pellett. Melissa is originally from Florida and has taught 14 years of K-10 grade in Ft. Lauderdale, St. Louis and in Metro Detroit. Sam finished her second summer at JCC Day Camps. Prior to joining the JCC, she served two years in AmeriCorps’ Michigan Education Corps program as a literacy interventionist for children in Kindergarten through third grade.
JCC Day Camps is licensed by the State of Michigan, is accredited by the American Camp Association, and offers complimentary, chaperoned transportation to and from most areas in Oakland County.
