For campers who enjoy skill-building camps, we offer a choice of eight different specialty tracks.  Campers can register for a variety of interests one week at a time, or follow a specific track for a portion of the summer. All specialty camps are age-appropriate, taught by instructors and trained professionals who specialize in those areas of interest. 

Campers spend mornings developing skills in their specialty area, and then enjoy afternoons filled with swimming and other elective activities. (Some camps include skill-building in the afternoon as well.) 

Weekly Camps- $500 per week. Take advantage of a discount for more weeks registered! Save $25 a week when you register for more than 4 weeks (up to $175 off).

Art Camp (3-6 Grade)

Week 1 Michigan Made Music – For Michigan Made week we will get inspired by local flora, fauna, animals, and music! Pulling elements from our surroundings and our research we will create work in a variety of media including drawing, painting, string art, and found objects. 
 
Week 2Around the World (Israel Day) – Israel is rich in culture and in creative outlets! During this week we will explore media such as fiber arts, found object art, clay, drawing, painting, and recycled art. 
  
Week 350’s – The 1950’s spurred the Pop Art movement! We will spend the week getting inspired by artists like Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, and Romero Britto. These artists love vibrant color, printmaking, comic strips, and retro-futuristic styles. 
 
Week 460’s – Feelin’ groovy! This week we will examine psychedelic word art, minimalist landscapes design, and the development of Pop Art! 
 

Adventure Camp

(3-6 Grade)

Week 1 & 5- Splash Camp Have a new aquatic adventure every day! Visit water parks such as Red Oaks, Rolling Hills, and to Zehnder’s Splash Village. Enjoy lake activities including beach time, bounce activities, and tubing in places such as Whoa Zone and Kensington Beach. All water activities are supervised by certified lifeguards. Trips may change due to weather and availability.  *Transportation and all fees included. 

* The day at Zehnder’s Splash Village will be a late pick-up

Weeks 2 & 4- Ropes CampNavigate real and imaginary obstacles, while taking on the mental, physical and emotional challenges of these eco-friendly high ropes courses and climbing activities. Connect with nature, build confidence, and learn the values of planning and teamwork. Spend the week at Tree Runner Adventure Park in West Bloomfield with their professionally trained staff. 

Week 3- Ninja Warrior Camp- Partnering with Grit Obstacle Training the campers will be able to test their skills on numerous obstacles. Young ninjas are coached through different obstacles and work to develop core, agility, balance, strength, and overall confidence so that they can conquer obstacles both in and out of the gym. *Transportation and all fees included. 

Week 6 & 8- Around the Town- Get ready to jump on the bus and explore! Some places we may visit are CJ Barrymore’s, Dave and Busters, Detroit Zoo, and other fun places around the Metro Detroit area. Each day will be a different destination. *Transportation and all fees included. 

STEM Camp (3-6 Grade)

Week 1Minecraft Camp- Campers have the freedom to choose their Minecraft world! Lots of fun games for team-building or competitive, always social – it’s all about the interaction within the game. The minimum for this camp is 8.

Week 2- Ooey Gooey- Campers will spend each day getting messy and doing fun science/art/cooking projects. Other activities that encourage getting a little messy as well, like shaving cream tag, face painting, and water balloons.

Week 3- LEGO- Kids will be able to build and explore new ways to build and use legos. The campers will have opportunities to build and create whatever they want, we will create structured builds, and everyday campers will participate in lego building challenges where they will work together to build fantastic creations. 

Week 4- Fantasy- Campers will be creating projects and learning games with themes like star wars, Marvel/DC, Harry Potter, medieval, wizards, mythological creatures, magic, knights and dragons, superheroes and villains, and more. 

Week 5- All Things Science- Campers will spend the whole week exploring and doing experiments from many categories of science such as earth science, chemistry, astronomy, and biology. 

Week 6- Content Creation- During our intro to Content Creation camp, campers will learn graphic design and video editing software, basics & best practices, and how to create assets needed to prepare for a live stream. The minimum for this camp is 8.

Week 7- Games- Every day would be about playing and learning different types of games. Campers will even have a chance to invent their own game!

Week 8- Challenge Yourself- Campers will work with their friends to complete and take on challenging tasks. Campers will also have opportunities to conquer their fears and learn to take risks. This week will focus on challenging activities and some of the time would be learning what all are “fears” or things we are not good at individually, and as a group, work to improve ourselves by creating activities based on helping each other conquer said task.

Cooking Camp (3-6 Grade)

Week 5 -Restaurant Camp- Whether you dream of owning a restaurant that serves burgers and fries or running a gourmet bistro in Paris, this camp is certain to be a tasty treat. Campers will name their restaurant, plan their own menus, and cook up delicious meals that family and friends are invited to enjoy at the restaurant’s “Grand Opening” on Friday. It is sure to be a fun and exciting experience for everyone! 

Week 6 -Small Eats Big Treats-Do you walk in the house after school looking for something to eat? Are you tired of the same old snacks day after day? Then we’ve got the camp for you! Welcome to Small Eats and Big Treats Camp! Every day we will explore easy recipes for snacks and small meals you can make yourself. By the end of the week, you will have a collection of recipes to share with your family and friends. Join us and let’s get snackin’. 

Week 7- Cooking 101- Campers will learn the answers to questions like How long does it take for water to boil? What is good kitchen cleanliness? Can you put a hardboiled egg in the microwave? During the week campers will learn their way around a kitchen, learn basic cooking methods, and simple recipes. By the end of this week, campers will be able to create a meal for their family and friends! So let’s get cooking!  

Week 8- Camp Bake Off- It’s baking time! Whether cakes or cookies, pies or more… join us for baking GALORE! Each day will be different techniques, including following a recipe, using a mixer, oven times, kneading, rolling, and shaping dough! Every day will also include cool challenges! All of this fun experience will be put to good use at the end of the week for our bake-off. We will have a competition with guest judges to award winners and it just might be you! 

 

Sports Camp (3-6 Grade)

Week 1-Basketball- Campers come and participate in a summer skills and drills basketball camp with Coach Joe of the Detroit Pistons Academy! Players will work on the fundamentals of basketball as well as compete in contests and scrimmages. The goal is to enjoy the game of basketball and improve your confidence and ability within the game. 

Week 2-Lacrosse- Camp is partnering with Detroit United Lacrosse Association for lacrosse camp. Detroit United Lacrosse is a youth organization dedicated to developing student-athletes of character and integrity who will serve as positive members of the community. At the camp, your child will have the opportunity to learn the game of lacrosse in a unique and accelerated setting by receiving both fundamental instruction and immediate gameplay. We believe that learning any new sport should be fun, and what better way to learn than to play games. Each day, your child will learn new skills from USA Lacrosse certified coaches who bring the concepts to life through interactive learning and fun activities. 

Week 3-Soccer- We are partnering with Detroit Soccer District this summer! Campers will work on learning and perfecting soccer skills while having fun and making friends. Detroit Soccer District are dedicated to providing affordable and accessible, high-quality soccer to all ages. The minimum for this camp is 10 campers.

Week 4-Archery-Trained archery instructors teach the proper use of bows and arrows, while campers take aim at 3-D targets on a shooting range. For first-time or advanced shooters. Transportation and all equipment provided.

Nature Camp (3-6 Grade)

Week 5-Bug’s Life- Does your camper like creepy crawlers? This camp is for all of the bug-loving campers! Catch bugs in the wild and learn all about them!

Week 6- Gardening- Help set up a garden right here at camp!  Learn best practices to help make plants grow.  Learn what plants are edible and when the right time to plant is.

Week 7- Farm Camp- Kids can make new connections, enjoy nature, gardening, animals and learn a thing or two about farming at farm camp! 

Week 8-Trail Seeking Camp- This camp is for all of our explorers! JCC Day Camps is located on 250 acres of unused land. With our expert trail guide, explore the unknown! Campers will learn how to prepare for a day out in the wild while exploring the wonderful things the woods has to offer.  

 

Performing Arts Camp

(5-9 Grade)

This 4-week session of the Performing Arts Camp offers children the opportunity to be a part of full-scale theatre production. From acting work to choreography and voice training to “behind the scene” opportunities, each component of this camp helps to build self-esteem as well as confidence. This year’s production will be Suessical the Musical Jr.!

Jr. Specialty Camp

(1-2 Grade)

The campers will have opportunities to build and create whatever they want, we will create structured builds, and everyday campers will participate in lego building challenges where they will work together to build fantastic creations. 

Week 7-Bug’s Life- Does your camper like creepy crawlers?  This camp is for all of the bug-loving campers!  Catch bugs in the wild and learn all about them!

Week 8-Sports- Campers will learn and play a different sport each day with a guest coach from around Metro-Detroit!
