Teen Travel Camp

Pre Camp 6/17 – +21 / Session 1 Week 1 6/24 – 6/28
Session 2  Week 1 7/22 – 7/26 / Session 2 Week 3 8/5 – 8/9
Session 2 Week 4 8/12 – 8/16 /Post Camp 8/19 – 8/23

Teens Teens can relax and socialize, while going off-site to visit places such as Dave and Busters, Tree Runner Adventure Park, Detroit Zoo, Airtime and more. Staff is selected based on experience, ability to work with this age group and supervisory skill. Transportation to off-site locations is provided by camp buses with professional drivers.



Session 1 Week 2 7/1 – 7/5 (no camp on 7/4)

Travel to Tamarack, Camp Maas, for water skiing, tubing, kayaking and beach time. For beginning to advanced water skiers, or anyone who loves to be active in the water. Equipment provided. All water activities supervised by certified lifeguards. Transportation included.


Session 1 Week 3 7/8 – 7/12

Get away from the city for a few days with your friends at the BEST PLACE EVER! Travel to Tamarack, Camp Maas, for a 4 day/3 night trip immersed in all-things Tamarack: water skiing, climbing wall, Farber Farm, boating, arts & crafts, and so much more. This will be the first group to take advantage of the NEWLY built (in 2019) Dr. Dan and Betty Kahn Foundation Village.


Session 1 Week 4 7/15 – 7/19

Travel to Mirepoix Cooking School at Holiday Market, Royal Oak, for a different culinary experience every day. Prepare, cook and taste styles of cuisine ranging from European to American fare. Learn kitchen safety, etiquette, and cooking techniques. Lunch is included and prepared by each camper. Transportation included as well as daily recreational swimming. Campers with severe food allergies or dietary restrictions should contact the camp office prior to registration.


Session 2 Week 2 7/29 – 8/2

Enjoy a new aquatic adventure every day! Visit water parks in locations such as Red Oaks, Rolling Hills, Waterford Oaks and Turtle Cove. Trips may change due to weather and availability. Transportation included. Teens must be able to swim in deeper water. Max 36

LIT: Leaders in Training

Entering grades 10-11 in Fall 2019

Session 1 & Session 2: $50 MEM/$75 NON-MEM

Receive training in leadership, child management for children, program development, and learn appropriate behavior around various ages of campers. LITs should be interested in improving their skills and strengths, working with children, becoming a part of our community, and developing leadership skills.

All LITs must apply and interview prior to being accepted into the LIT program.

Junior Counselor

Session 1 & Session 2: $50* MEM/$75 NON-MEM

*Reimbursed upon successful completion after Session 2

This strong college resume-builder includes everything you loved about being a camper, while learning how to be future staff. Develop and practice leadership, communication, and team-building skills through hands-on activities and discussions. This 4-week commitment includes field trips, social action and community service programs.

Successful completion includes a certificate, a letter of recommendation, and a stipend of $150 if hired by JCC Day Camps or Tamarack Camps for the 2020 season.
